Cyvl, the AI Infrastructure Intelligence Platform, has secured $14 million in Series A funding, with Sentinel Global leading the round. The company, already partnered with more than 100 U.S. local governments, is transforming the way cities and towns collect, analyze, and act on infrastructure data. Its sensor-fitted vehicles function as roving data centers, generating high-fidelity 3D maps that provide authorities with a live, data-driven picture of roadways, sidewalks, and public assets. This information—historically scarce, fragmented, and expensive to gather—is converted into actionable intelligence through Cyvl’s AI platform, helping governments streamline inspections, prioritize repairs, and save millions in taxpayer dollars.
CEO and Co-founder Daniel Pelaez explained that the company’s origin was deeply personal. Having worked on a road crew in Southbury, Connecticut, Pelaez saw the daily inefficiencies caused by the absence of reliable data. Cyvl’s mission grew from that experience: to give municipalities the tools to make faster, smarter, and more transparent decisions. With this new funding, Cyvl plans to expand its engineering team, accelerate product innovation, and scale its deployments in large metropolitan areas while continuing to serve smaller communities. The goal is to give every government, regardless of size, access to real-time intelligence for maintaining infrastructure more effectively.
Sentinel Global’s Managing Partner, Jeremy Kranz, emphasized that Cyvl represents a new model for civic technology, one that blends real-world data with AI-powered analysis to help communities manage limited resources more strategically. He described Cyvl as building the “infrastructure intelligence layer” of the U.S., delivering insights that improve safety, optimize budgets, and strengthen public trust. The timing could not be more critical, with the U.S. currently in its largest infrastructure investment cycle in seventy years, backed by more than $1 trillion in federal funding. By mapping potholes, planning smarter sidewalks, and optimizing repairs, Cyvl’s platform is ensuring that money is spent efficiently and transparently.
Already, Cyvl’s reach is significant: one in thirty Americans drives on roads informed by its data platform. The company’s long-term vision is to make infrastructure intelligence a standard layer for urban and rural planning, ensuring public works projects are guided by precise, real-time data. With Sentinel Global’s support and growing adoption across the country, Cyvl is positioning itself at the heart of the U.S. infrastructure renewal, reshaping how cities invest in safety, efficiency, and resilience.
