Arcadia Data, another California-based startup, takes on Hadoop to tackle such challenges as SQL queries, user friendliness and visualization. These are challenges that slow down Hadoop’s adoption, say a recently released Hadoop market study. Still, the report Hadoop Market Forecast 2017-2022 is optimistic about Hadoop’s future and forecasts fast growth in a couple of years. Arcadia Data is out of stealthy mode and just announced raising $11.5 million in Series A funding.
Israeli-based JethroData, a provider of SQL-on-Hadoop solutions, has raised $8.1 million in Series B funding.
It remains a tough question and a subject of many controversies whether Hadoop adoption is slowing down or just pausing before fast growth phase. Below are results of market survey from aforementioned market report.
