LightPointe, a Manufacturer of Point to Point Radios, Introduces the World’s Highest Capacity 60 GHz Radio, Ten Times Higher than Competitors

October 18, 2018 By admin Leave a Comment

AireLink 60 GHz 10 Gig radio leapfrogs competition, providing highest ROI (lowest cost per bit), and offering affordable alternative to licensed 70/80 GHz radios

Dubai GITEX Technology Week Show – LightPointe, a San Diego-based manufacturer of outdoor 60 GHz and 70/80 GHz Point to Point radios since 1998, announced that it is shipping the world’s highest capacity full-duplex 60 GHz backhaul radio—up to 10 times higher data throughput than any competing radio. The AireLink 60 10 Gig sets a new benchmark in unlicensed 60 GHz spectrum solutions, providing an affordable alternative to 70 GHz and 80 GHz E-band licensed radios and the “lowest cost per bit” of any competing Gigabit capacity link in the industry in the 57 to 64 GHz V-band. The announcement was made during the GITEX Technology Week tradeshow in Dubai.

“Our AireLink 60 10 Gig radio marks a milestone in 60 GHz technology and 10 Gbps affordability, leapfrogging all competing solutions and setting the standard for best ROI and future-proof performance,” said Dr. Heinz Willebrand, CEO of LightPointe. “In addition to offering the highest capacity available, the AireLink 60 10 Gig was engineered in a small, aesthetically attractive form factor with a 38.5 dBi high gain antenna integrated into the design. This makes the system easy to install by businesses, video and security integrators, and 5G LTE telecom carriers. The advantage of 60 GHz radios is that they do not require spectrum licensing and is easily deployed. And since the beam path is very narrow at 1.9 degrees, the transmission from one building or tower to another is precise and secure. In addition to replacing fiber and leased-line alternatives, these radios are ideal for providing failover and redundancy for wireline services to ensure network uptime.”

Features:

Full-duplex 10 Gbps operation (20 Gbps total aggregated capacity).
Low latency.
Flexible adaptive modulation up to 128QAM.
Enhanced Intelligent Automatic Gain Control (AGC).
100 MHz to 2 GHz channel bandwidth.
Advanced Ethernet switching features (VLAN, MPLS-TP, Policers, MEF CE 2.0 compliant, TCAM-based QOS, L2 switching/L2 multicast).
Easy to install (optical alignment system).
Attractive all outdoor design.
LightPointe’s acclaimed global support network.
