Raspberry Pi 500+: Enterprise Endpoint Computing Reimagined

September 25, 2025 By admin Leave a Comment

Raspberry Pi has always stood for democratizing computing, and with the launch of the Raspberry Pi 500+, it is moving firmly into the enterprise market. This device, designed in the spirit of the legendary all-in-one keyboard computers, combines compact elegance with enterprise-ready performance. Housed within a sleek and ergonomic keyboard, the Raspberry Pi 500+ integrates a quad-core 64-bit Arm processor, up to 16 GB of RAM, and a swappable SSD for flexible storage. It includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Gigabit Ethernet, enabling secure, connected, and fast computing right out of the box. For enterprises facing the looming end of Windows 10 support in October 2025—when more than 40% of PCs won’t be eligible for Windows 11 upgrades—this device emerges as a timely and affordable alternative to costly refresh cycles.

The partnership with NComputing is what elevates this launch into a strategic solution for organizations shifting to the cloud. With LEAF OS, a hardened, read-only operating system, the Raspberry Pi 500+ eliminates local data storage, minimizing the attack surface and significantly reducing the risk of compromise. This dovetails with the growing enterprise reliance on VDI, DaaS, and SaaS, enabling workloads to be run centrally with smooth, optimized performance across virtual desktops and cloud apps. The device supports USB peripherals to ensure compatibility with enterprise workflows while Endpoint Manager provides centralized configuration and updates, simplifying IT operations. In practical terms, this means IT teams can replace legacy PCs with a single integrated endpoint that is low-cost, easy to manage, and secure by design.

Eben Upton, CEO of Raspberry Pi, captured the significance: “Raspberry Pi 500+ brings enterprise-ready performance in a compact, keyboard-based form factor. By working with NComputing, enterprises can now deploy this device with LEAF OS to securely deliver Windows 11 and cloud-based applications, all at a fraction of the cost of traditional endpoints.” This sentiment was echoed by Young Song, CEO of NComputing, who emphasized that the collaboration provides a lifeline for IT teams navigating the Windows 10 end-of-life challenge, offering a way to avoid heavy capital expenses while modernizing digital infrastructure.

The Raspberry Pi 500+ represents the company’s most sophisticated hardware to date, but more importantly, it shows how Raspberry Pi is stepping into the heart of enterprise computing. Rather than just a low-cost hobbyist tool, it has become a powerful endpoint for secure, cloud-first workplaces. At a time when enterprises are under pressure to reduce IT costs, manage risk, and adapt to the post-Windows 10 landscape, the Raspberry Pi 500+ offers not just a device, but a shift in how organizations can think about end-user computing.
