The A37 5G sits one rung below the A57 in Samsung’s new mid-range lineup, and the differences are real but not dealbreaking. If the A57 is the ambition play, the A37 is the practical one.
The display is the first place you notice the step-down: Super AMOLED rather than Super AMOLED+, and the slightly thicker bezels and larger footprint (162.9 x 78.2 x 7.4mm, 196g) make it the bulkier of the two. The 120Hz refresh and Vision Booster remain, so day-to-day scrolling and outdoor visibility are still strong. It’s a good screen — just not the sharpest in this pairing.
Camera hardware is where the A37 pulls back more noticeably. The ultra-wide drops to 8MP from the A57’s 12MP, which matters if wide-angle shooting is part of your regular use. The 50MP main sensor and 5MP macro carry over, and Nightography improvements apply to both models. What the A37 doesn’t get: Best Face for continuous shooting, the enhanced image processing for sharpness and noise reduction, and the faster shutter speed. For casual photography these gaps won’t sting. For anyone who shoots frequently in varied conditions, they add up.
The AI feature set is largely shared — Voice Transcription, AI Select, Object Eraser, Circle to Search with multi-object recognition, Bixby, Gemini. The A37 doesn’t feel stripped of intelligence, just the more refined camera-side implementations. Auto Trim for video editing is also A57-only.
Battery is the same 5,000mAh cell with the same two-day rating. Both models are IP68. Both run Android 16 with One UI 8.5 and carry Knox Vault security. The base storage configuration starts at 6+128GB versus the A57’s 8+128GB, which is the other tangible difference worth noting.
The A37 comes in Awesome Charcoal only at launch, compared to the A57’s Awesome Navy. Minor point, but worth knowing.
Bottom line: If the A57 is out of budget or simply more phone than you need, the A37 delivers the same core experience — display, battery, AI features, durability — with a camera that trades some ceiling for a lower price. Most users won’t hit that ceiling anyway.
