Workiva Helps Advance Open Data Across Federal Government

October 11, 2018 By admin Leave a Comment

Workiva (NYSE:WK), a leader in data collaboration, reporting and compliance solutions, will play a key role as title sponsor in today’s Data Transparency 2018 conference, the Data Foundation’s sixth annual flagship event that explores how open data is being standardized, shared and used across Federal government agencies and the private sector.

“We are committed to supporting governmental agencies as they move from static, paper documents to digital data,” said Marty Vanderploeg, CEO of Workiva. “Our Wdesk platform helps users improve productivity, increase transparency and interact seamlessly with government data.”

Conference attendees will hear from 48 speakers from international government agencies, the White House and Congress, as well as experts from the private sector. Sessions will focus on grant reporting, financial regulatory reporting and non-proprietary identification systems. Speakers will also address how Chief Data Officers are leveraging technology to modernize data collection, management and analytics for regulatory compliance.

Yasser Mahmud, Workiva Vice President of Product Marketing, will deliver the keynote speech on how open data can transform regulatory reports into strategic data assets. Mike Starr, Workiva Vice President of Governmental and Regulatory Affairs, will provide closing remarks regarding the future of open data within the Federal government and how private-sector solutions enable change.

“Research by the Data Foundation has shown that open data use is growing in grant reporting, congressional appropriations, the universal entity identification system in the U.S., DATA Act implementation and much more,” said Sarah Joy Hays, Interim President of the Data Foundation. “Our community of technology companies, like Workiva, are leading the adoption of open data across government agencies and the private sector.”
