INNOVATION DAYS: The Italian Trade Agency creates opportunities for Italian startups in the United States

October 9, 2018 By admin Leave a Comment

Innovation Days 2018 takes place on October 12th in San Francisco, right on the aftermath of ITA’s participation to LAUNCH Scale 2018, where Italian startups are offered valuable opportunities to engage with leading American counterparts and present their innovative ideas. The event is organized by the Italian Trade Agency via its Los Angeles office.

On October 10th and 11th, ITA will accompany a delegation of Italian startups to LAUNCH Scale, leading international event in the startup world. At LAUNCH, founders and experts who have successfully scaled startups will engage in discussions and workshops with newcomers in the field, as to guide them and give valuable feedback on their ideas and potential growth.

In this context, on October 10th, the participating startups will showcase their products in a ITA-branded “startup alley” and pitch their ideas on the main stage before a panel of experts led by Jason Calacanis, getting first-hand feedback and precious food for thoughts.

On October 12th, 6-10pm, the Italian Trade Agency will host its 2018 Innovation Day, under the overarching theme of The Dual Company Model.

This business model, that is when a technology company creates a US holding company to enter the US market while maintaining significant operations in its home market, in this case Italy, can count of numerous successful examples that have paved the way for more to follow.

During the evening, a panel of tech CEOs based in Silicon Valley, moderated by Jason Calacanis, will discuss their experience leading a successful dual company. Among them: Andrea Calcagno (CEO of Cloud4Wi), Luigi Congedo (VC, Bootstraplabs), Simone Brunozzi (Founder/CEO of Fabrica) and Fabrizio Capobianco (CEO of TOK.tv). A priceless opportunity for emerging startups to get first-hand advice from realities that have established themselves as leaders in all sectors of technology. The panel will be followed by a networking dinner.

The Innovation Days 2018 San Francisco program has the official support of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development.

The events will take place at BeSpoke San Francisco, Westfield San Francisco Center, Level 4
845 Market Street, Suite 450, San Francisco.
